AUDIO
****- (4out of 5)
The audio is a perfect complement to the visual. I might have liked to hear a bit more dynamic low-end range (maybe it was there but my cheap headset doesnt reproduce it well). Figuring out the rhythm is as engaging as appreciating the soundtrack itself. However, I felt myself expecting a musical resolution to the piece, but the tune just kind of stopped. So I felt somewhat let down about that, not knowing if it was intentional, or if it is the precise way to conclude such a technology-driven piece of work. I suppose thats the price an artist pays for creating such a finely-crafted enigma.
VISUAL
****- (4 out of 5)
The frame-within-a-frame provided a nice duality throughout the piece, and the constantly-changing animation kept my eye moving all over the frame. Fine animation technique. But like the audio, the visual element just stopped at the end (maybe the piece is designed to be performed as a loop?).
PRESENTATION
****- (4 out of 5)
The production notes in the artist's description are appreciated, and tell it like it is. But more importantly: Something this cool should be projected onto the Hoover Dam! Or at least on the ceiling at your next party.
